As I sit here FINALLY fulfilling a blog post… something that has been on my “to-do” list for OVER a YEAR… I got distracted… yet again! My original intention was to make a series of posts about CranioSacral Therapy. And while that is still my intention, when I sat down to do this post, the words “When Consistency Is Nonexistent” was channeled.
I just stared at the page... What?! Where did that come from? Something inside me paused!
If you are familiar with CranioSacral Therapy, then you may know it can transition into a SomatoEmotional Release. For context, CranioSacral therapy uses a light-touch approach to facilitate the release of pain, tension, stress, and anxiety from the body. This therapy focuses on the central nervous system via the brain and spinal cord, as well as the connective tissue known as fascia. It reduces tension and can clear blockages that are affecting other systems, such as your muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, etc. to enhance your body’s natural ability to heal.

SomatoEmotional Release takes it a step further and facilitates the release of stuck emotions that may be held in the tissue. For example, it can use therapeutic imagery and dialogue as a technique to explore, resolve, and/or integrate any issue that may be standing in our way from moving forward.
Wait… “standing in our way from moving forward!” Did that resonate with you?
If so, what you just experienced is something Dr. Upledger, the osteopathic physician who created CranioSacral Therapy, called a "Significance Detector." It is a sudden, usually subtle shift in the CranioSacral rhythm. This rhythm, in simpler terms, is like a felt sense shift in the body, either by yourself or a trained therapist. The best way I can describe it without getting too anatomically scientific, from both perspectives, is a PAUSE. Sometimes it stops you in your tracks and sometimes it is so subtle that it is overlooked and ignored… until you are forced to sit down and face it!
Going back to the channeled titled… “When Consistency Is Nonexistent”… did you feel something in your body shift... a sudden PAUSE?
If so, let’s explore together!
I’m going to break this post into two parts to give you time to reflect.

Here is our contemplation…
What does “Consistency” mean to you? How do you define "Consistency?"
Take a PAUSE and ask yourself those questions!
File it away in your mind's filing cabinet or take a second and write your definition down on a sticky note! Or better yet... COMMENT BELOW!
Stay tuned as I share my own definition and we continue exploring!
